My film UMA RAPARIGA IMATERIAL / IMMATERIAL GIRL will premiere in the short film festival Curtas Vila do Conde. The same festival where I had my first film (when I was still in film school) 20 years ago. The film will be shown on July 14th (20:30) and 16th (14:30).
My film PONTO MORTO will be screened at FILO-LISBOA 2021, an event about Philosophy and Creativity held at São Luiz Teatro Municipal. My film will be discussed with philosopher João Constâncio, that will probably talk about nihilism… I don’t know. 🤷🏻♂️ The screening and talk will be November 29th at 19:00 in São Luiz Teatro Municipal.
The quote above is from an episode of The Simpsons, it was my inspiration for the shots I made for the film CONTÁGIO. Production house C.R.I.M. invited 15 directors to do 3 shots for a collective film about the pandemic. The film is available for free at FILMIN.
My film PONTO MORTO will be screened in the program Lusco-Fusco, with Victor Erice’s LA MORTE ROUGE. The two films were chosen by Os Filhos de Lumière, and they both tell us that red is for death. September 4th, 21h30 at Polo Cultural das Gaivotas.
My film NO TRILHO DOS NATURALISTAS: ANGOLA will be screened in the event ESTAR EM CASA. This event is an occupation of the theatre São Luiz, around the idea of the theatre as a home curated by Anabela Mota Ribeiro and André e. Teodósio.
Sunday 13th at 16h30 we’ll be at home dreaming of traveling… More info here.
My short film BONJOUR is going to be screened in Lisbon in the open air terrace of Polo Cultural das Gaivotas, along with Margarida Leitão’s GIPSOFILA. Two films made in closed houses to see with the stars above you.
These films are programmed by Os Filhos de Lumiére for the program Lusco-Fusco – August 15 at 21h30.
António Gouveia and Alexandra Cook are going to be in Macau at the festival This is My City to talk about the documentary series No Trilho dos Naturalistas. My episode of the series, shot in Angola, is going to be screened at the talk. December 6th, at Casa Garden, 6pm.
My documentary No Trilho dos Naturalistas: Angola will be screened this sunday (25) on RTP Internacional (it will be screened at 12h according to RTP’s website, though I don’t know what this really means around the world…)
